LINKING PAN CARD WITH ADHAAR :
The last date for linking a PAN card with an Aadhaar number (Aadhaar-PAN Link) has been fixed as June 30, 2023. The government has done this deadline several times in the past, but it has not been extended this time. If a person has not yet linked their PAN with Aadhaar, their PAN will be deactivated. If PAN is deactivated, you cannot avail of certain services where you have to enter the number compulsorily. Further, if you have not filed your Income Tax Return (ITR) yet, it will be possible only after linking your PAN with your Aadhaar.
MAKE PAN OPERATIONAL AGAIN:
If your PAN has been deactivated, the Central Board of Direct Taxes, in a notification dated March 28, 2023, has clarified what a person can do to make his PAN operational again. Rs. 1,000 fee and if Aadhaar is linked, PAN can be re-activated within 30 days. According to Naveen Wadhwa, DGM, Taxmann.com, a person can link PAN with Aadhaar even after the last date for linking PAN with Aadhaar. For example, a person can link his PAN with Aadhaar till July 20. 1000 Rs. After paying the penalty, linking the PAN can prevent the PAN from becoming inactive on or before August 19.
